Cookie Policy
Effective date: 18 March 2026 · Last reviewed: 11 October 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as your login session — and help the site function correctly. Cookies cannot execute code or carry viruses.
2. Cookies We Use
We use only the cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the platform:
- .AspNetCore.Antiforgery.* — Session cookie. Protects forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. Expires when you close your browser.
- .AspNetCore.Identity.Application — Authentication cookie. Keeps you logged in during your session. Expires after 14 days of inactivity if "Remember me" is selected, otherwise expires when you close your browser.
- .AspNetCore.Culture — Preference cookie. Remembers the language you chose (English or Dutch). Expires after 1 year.
We do not currently use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics cookies. Our pages load no files from other companies (fonts and scripts are served by FriendShaping itself), so visiting the site does not share your IP address with third parties.
3. Legal Basis
The cookies listed above are strictly necessary for the platform to function, or remember a choice you made yourself (your language). Under the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet) and the ePrivacy Directive, consent is not required for strictly necessary cookies. We do not require you to accept optional cookies to use FriendShaping.
4. How to Control Cookies
Most browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. Blocking or deleting the cookies listed above will prevent you from logging in and using the platform. To manage cookies in your browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
5. Future Changes
If we introduce optional cookies (such as analytics), we will update this policy and implement a cookie consent mechanism before doing so. You will always be informed and given a choice.
