Terms of Use

1. About FriendShaping

FriendShaping is an online community platform that helps adults in the Netherlands form genuine, real-world friendships through shared activities and events. The platform is operated from the Netherlands and is subject to Dutch law.

2. Eligibility

To use FriendShaping you must:

• Be at least 18 years old (see our Minimum Age Policy).
• Provide accurate registration information.
• Not have been previously banned from the platform.

3. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials confidential.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately at support@friendshaping.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or community guidelines is prohibited.

4. Acceptable Use

FriendShaping is a safe and welcoming community. You agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or discriminate against other members.
• Post content that is sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful.
• Use the platform to solicit money, promote commercial services, or engage in spam.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without permission.
• Distribute malware or engage in any activity that disrupts the platform.
• Scrape or systematically harvest user data.

5. Community Events and Meetups

FriendShaping facilitates connections between members, but we are not responsible for activities or behaviour that occur at events organised by or between members. You attend and participate at your own risk. We strongly encourage you to:

• Meet for the first time in public places.
• Inform a trusted person of your plans.
• Report any unsafe behaviour to us via our complaints procedure.

6. Content You Post

You retain ownership of content you post (profile information, messages, event descriptions). By posting, you grant FriendShaping a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content within the platform for the purpose of operating the service.

Content that violates our Moderation Policy will be removed. Repeat or serious violations may result in account suspension or permanent ban.

7. Platform Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform. Scheduled maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may cause temporary outages. We will communicate planned downtime in advance where possible.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your profile settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation. See our Removal Policy for details.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law, FriendShaping is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or interactions with other members. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid by you to FriendShaping in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. See also our Disclaimer.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the Netherlands.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use. Material changes will be communicated with at least 14 days' notice before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
