Removal Policy
Effective date: 18 March 2026 ยท Last reviewed: 18 March 2026
1. Removing Your Own Content
You may delete content you have posted (profile information, event descriptions, comments) at any time through your account settings. Deleted content is immediately removed from public view and permanently purged from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
2. Closing Your Account
You may close your account at any time by visiting your profile settings or by contacting us at support@friendshaping.com. Upon account closure:
- Your profile is immediately made invisible to other members.
- Personal data (name, email, profile information) is deleted within 30 days.
- Anonymised activity records (e.g. event attendance counts) may be retained for statistical purposes and cannot be linked back to you.
- Data required by Dutch law (e.g. financial records) is retained for the legally mandated period (up to 7 years).
3. Right to Erasure (GDPR)
Under GDPR Article 17, you have the right to request erasure of your personal data. You can exercise this right by emailing privacy@friendshaping.com. We will confirm receipt and complete the erasure within 30 days, subject to:
- Legal retention obligations that override the right to erasure.
- The need to retain data to defend against legal claims.
- Technical constraints relating to backups (backups are purged on their normal rotation cycle).
4. Content Removed by Moderation
Content that violates our Moderation Policy may be removed by our team. The member who posted the content will be notified by email with the reason for removal. Removed content is not shown to other members and is deleted within 30 days unless it is retained as evidence in an ongoing investigation or legal proceeding.
5. Account Suspension and Bans
A suspended account cannot access the platform during the suspension period. A permanently banned account is closed and the email address is added to a block list to prevent re-registration. The personal data associated with banned accounts is retained for a period of up to 5 years to prevent circumvention of bans, after which it is deleted.
6. Reporting Content for Removal
If you believe content posted by another member should be removed (e.g. it contains your personal information without consent, or violates our policies), please contact us via the Contact & Complaints procedure. We will review and respond within 3 business days.
7. Inactive Accounts
Accounts that have had no activity for 24 consecutive months will receive an email warning. If there is no response within 60 days, the account and associated data will be deleted. You may reactivate your account at any time before deletion by logging in.
